History

Bioalvo was incorporated in December of 2005 after winning several awards in BP contest in Portugal and abroad.
The first Portuguese biotech company working in the early stages of drug discovery was funded by promoters with diverse international experiences both in science and business and backed up by two Portuguese VC funds.

Vision

The vision we believe in does not allow us to predict the future, but allows us to create the future we desire. Bioalvo’s institutional motto is: “Venturing and innovating we are building the future in therapeutics.”

Mission

Improve welfare and quality of life of today’s patients and their families by actively contributing to the development of new drugs and therapies that will be more effective in the fight against human diseases.

• Ethics and integrity

Honesty, credibility and coherence are present in everything we do. We act according to the highest ethics standards in every and single one of our actions; we promote ethical consciousness in the execution of all our programs.

We are identified with and committed to our Vision and Mission. We strive to contribute for new and absolutely necessary solutions to fight diseases that affect millions of people. We are civically devoted to and involved in social and cultural activities.

• Environmental and ecological responsibility

We believe in the preservation of environmental quality in the world we live in. We use our resources in a responsible and controlled way and contribute, in every possible manner, to encourage recycling and promote the rational use of those resources.

• Creativity and enthusiasm

We create and transform with originality and execute with flexibility, commitment and joy. We are bold and take assumed risks. We innovate!
